Three Square Backpacks for Kids Program 2018

Three Square Backpacks for Kids Program 2018

Every other month, we spend a Tuesday night putting together bags of food for children who may go without food on the weekends. This night our employees helped put together over 2,300 bags of food for our local children. Although the number of bags went down compared to previous nights, the amount of food more than doubled due to the holiday break. Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties. Three Square’s mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. They combine food banking (warehousing canned and boxed goods), food rescue (obtaining surplus or unused meats, bread, dairy and produce from hospitality and grocery outlets), and ready-to-eat meals to be the most complete food solution for Southern Nevada. They work with a service network of more than 1,600 community partners, which includes non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools, and after school and feeding sites – in our community to reach struggling individuals and families at risk of hunger. In 2017, we distributed more than 37 million meals, the equivalent of more than 45 million pounds of food and grocery product, through…

Special Olympics Southern Nevada Regional Bowling Championship

Special Olympics Volunteer Registration sign

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. For the second year in a row, we were able to volunteer with this unbelievable organization to aid in organizing lanes, assisting players with whatever they need and supporting the players who look forward to this competition all year long. We met some incredible new friends and cheered on every single player!

Just One Project Masquerade Ball

The Just One Project is a local, grassroots, non-profit organization created to inspire people to get involved and give back to their community. Their projects connect people to volunteer opportunities and proving that it takes Just One to make a difference. Their projects benefit at-risk, low income families and children. In addition, one of their many programs is Pop Up & Give, which is not only Nevada’s largest mobile food pantry, but they host Pop Up & Give projects the last week of every month, when families need food the most. With an average of 75,000+ pounds of food given, the  Pop Up & Give project has the goal of providing households with one to two weeks of groceries depending on family size. It is an impactful project that allows their volunteers to serve the community with a unique hands on experience. These Pop Up & Give projects are funded by community partners that make in kind and/or financial donations. Pop Up & Give projects are set up like a farmers market and are free to food insecure families, adults, and children. We wanted to assist The Just One Project in their efforts to benefit at-risk, low income families and…

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada Corporate Sponsorship Ice Cream Social

Make-A-Wish Ice Cream Social

Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters advance the Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness. In the United States and its territories, on average, a wish is granted every 34 minutes. They believe a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides them and inspires them to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve. With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to announce our corporate partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation! Our goal is to come together in hopes of impacting the lives of children battling life-threatening illnesses. For Paul personally, our involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation is monumental. There is a massive need to assist children fighting cancer, and to make their lives as enjoyable as possible while they engage in that fight. Thank you, Make-A-Wish Foundation, for allowing us to be part of your incredible team!
